How Much Does a Brand Identity Actually Cost in 2026?
Ask ten designers what a brand identity costs, and you'll get ten different answers – anywhere from $50 on a marketplace to $50,000 with an agency. That's not because nobody knows what they're doing. It's because "brand identity" isn't one product. It's a spectrum of different problems being solved, at very different depths.
So instead of a single number that means nothing out of context, here's how the range actually breaks down and where the real decision points are.

Why the range is so wide
Price moves with:
Scope – a logo is not a brand identity. A system (logo, color, type, voice, application rules) is a different job entirely.
Whether strategy is included – are you paying someone to figure out what your brand should say and to whom, or just to make something look nice based on a one-line brief?
Market – a designer in Prague, Berlin, or New York is pricing against a different cost of living and client expectation, not a different skill ceiling.
Deliverables – guidelines, photography, social templates, and launch support all add real hours.
Timeline – compressed timelines cost more, always.
Brand Identity Cost - Three rough tiers
Tier | Typical range | What you're actually buying |
Templates / marketplace | $0–300 | Speed. No strategy, no customization, no one asking why your competitor's brand looks identical. |
Freelancer / strategist | roughly €2,000–6,000+ | A custom system with a documented reason behind every decision. Usually 4–8 weeks. |
Agency | €10,000–50,000+ | The same fundamentals, plus a bigger team, more stakeholders, more overhead. |
If you're an established small business or an early-stage startup that needs partners, retailers, or customers to take you seriously, the middle tier is usually where the actual conversation happens. Not because it's the "safe middle," but because it's the smallest investment that still includes real strategic thinking.
What moves the price within that middle tier
This is the part most pricing pages skip. Inside a freelance or boutique project, the number moves based on:
Strategy work as a distinct phase versus visuals reacting straight to a mood board
Number of deliverables (identity only, vs. identity + tone of voice + application guidelines + photography direction)
Revision rounds built into the process
Whether you need ongoing support after handoff, or a one-time delivery
None of this is about someone being "expensive" or "cheap." It's about what's actually included.

Where I sit, and why
I work with established small businesses and early-stage startups in lifestyle, beauty, and food brands that already have something real to sell, and need the identity to catch up to it. Projects typically run in the €2,500–6,000 range depending on scope, over 4 to 6 weeks: a week of discovery and strategy, two to three weeks of design, a week of revisions, and a final week for delivery and handoff.
I don't start with visuals. I start with your positioning and your audience, because a beautiful identity built on the wrong strategy just fails more expensively later.
If you're reading this trying to figure out whether it's worth it for where you are right now, that's exactly the conversation a discovery call is for. If I don't think a full identity project is the right move for your stage, I'll tell you that too.
